Something exciting has been happening in British Columbia. Several groups of women have been reading and discussing the book 10 Smart Things Women Can Do To Build a Better Life
. Read about three women’s experiences with the groups.

1. What motivated you to start a 10 Smart Things group?
I wanted to connect with, and build relationships with, a group of younger moms in my neighborhood with the intention of introducing them to Jesus Christ.
2. What did you like about the group/study/meetings?
There were different ‘spiritual’ outlooks but as the weeks went on, I was thrilled to see the women who knew Christ learning to express their faith in a very non-confrontational way. The setting and group structure empowered them to share spiritual truth and their experiences in a very caring manner.
3. What changes did you see in the lives of the women who attended?
I saw women’s relationships with Jesus Christ grow and strengthen as they saw how relevant He is to them where they are today. Others who did not know Him grew in their knowledge of who He is and how He can impact their lives. There was also a network of support which grew as the weeks went on; relationships deepened; they prayed for each other.
4. Would you recommend this study to a friend?
I would certainly recommend this study for anyone who wants a gentle way to introduce women to Jesus Christ. It is a very introductory course rather than a “Bible study” in the traditional sense. It does however reveal how God is at work and how He can help us every day, in every situation that comes our way. It is very flexible. It can be used in a small group, for a larger gathering, as well as for one-on-one mentoring.

1. What motivated you to join the 10 Smart Things group?
Our Bible Study group was looking for a good "introductory" study - as we had ladies with such a wide range of experience with the Bible and in their journey to Christ.
2. What did you like about the group/study/meetings?
The Small groups, good discussion starters, topics that we could all relate to - presented in a light, humorous manner.
3. What was most significant for you?
Pretty much ALL of the topics carried weight for me - but the two that stand out the most were Make Space and Concede Control. The exact words from the study have stayed with me and I have tried to build them into my personal and family life.
4. Has anything changed in your life as a result of being in the group?
Yes, many things. Some questions have been answered and other questions have arisen. My journey will continue! I do feel that I have taken a closer step to Christ and know that I have a long journey ahead, but I am on my way!
5. Would you recommend this study to a friend?
Yes absolutely. It is a great place to start. Not at all intimidating.

The Course content was interesting and applicable to my daily life with Biblical perspective. It provided an opportunity to invite friends.
2. What did you like about the group/study/meetings?
The Diversity of people, group discussion, and opportunity to make new friends.

That participants had the opportunity to hear and learn what the Bible says to the issues. It provided a good introduction to Christianity for those with no background.
4. Has anything changed in your life as a result of being in the group?
Absolutely. It helped me think and address some of the issues most relevant for me.
5. Would you recommend this study to a friend?
I would definitely recommend it! I would like to see all the women I know (and their friends) participate in this study.
6. What would you think would be a good next step?
Prepare more facilitators, get more hostesses, and promote this great study.
